Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and owner preferences
- Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and ensure gentle handling during grooming sessions
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat styling to promote pet health and hygiene
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming needs, special care instructions, and breed-specific grooming tips
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station and ensure all tools are sanitized after each use
- Assist with animal handling during intake and departure, ensuring a calm environment for pets of all temperaments
- Support kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and general animal care duties as needed to maintain a safe and welcoming facility
Experience
- Prior experience in pet grooming is highly preferred
- Strong dog handling skills combined with animal restraint expertise ensure safe grooming sessions for pets and staff alike
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and providing exceptional customer service
- Experience in pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, animal care routines, and kennel management is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist with large or heavy dogs or equipment
