Happy Tails Learning Center for Dogs is hiring a reliable Part-Time Kennel Assistant to work our weekday evening shifts.
The Shift
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- 3:00 PM – 9:00/10:00 PM (approximately 6–7 hours per shift)
- You will work alone during your shift, so strong reliability and self-motivation are essential.
Responsibilities
- Remove food and water bowls
- Complete laundry
- Clean up messes and accidents
- Provide individual potty breaks for dogs (typically 25–30 dogs in kennel)
- Close the building, secure all doors and windows, and set the alarm
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Willing and able to work with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Comfortable working outdoors for a majority of the shift (dress for the weather)
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Extremely reliable — calling off is difficult because you work alone and we care for dogs
- Strong work ethic and a “go-with-the-flow” attitude (dog care can be unpredictable)
- Reliable transportation
- Prior kennel or dog care experience is a plus, but not required
Important Note: This position requires working some holidays.
