Overview
Happy Start Learning Center #2 is a licensed childcare center serving infants through children age 3. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports early learning, family engagement, and staff excellence.
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Floater to support classrooms and assist with daily operations across the center.
Position Summary
The Floater provides classroom support as needed for infants and toddlers, helping maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment. This role may assist in multiple classrooms and help maintain staff ratios, classroom coverage, and daily routines.
Because of licensing requirements, the individual hired must also meet Director Designee qualifications and be able to step in to support administrative duties when needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare or daycare facility
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential OR
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Must meet Director Designee qualifications under state childcare licensing regulations
- Knowledge of infant and toddler development (birth–age 3)
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Dependable, patient, and nurturing personality
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support for infant and toddler classrooms as needed
- Assist teachers with daily routines including feeding, diapering, playtime, and transitions
- Help maintain required staff-to-child ratios and classroom coverage
- Support developmentally appropriate learning and play activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
- Follow all daycare policies and state licensing regulations
- Communicate respectfully with staff and families
- Assist with center operations and administrative support when necessary
Please note: Due to state childcare licensing requirements, applicants must meet Director Designee qualifications (CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field) to be considered for this position.
