To join Happy Pets Palace as a Pet Care Specialist, you must have a foundational knowledge of dog breeds. A dog breed test will be administered to assess your familiarity. Understanding different breeds and their unique personality traits is essential to providing the best care. While prior knowledge is helpful, we are happy to train the right candidates who bring a positive and enthusiastic attitude!

This role is active - you'll be on your feet, covering 3 to 5 miles during a six-hour shift. If canine body language and animal behavior fascinate you, we'll help you become an expert in dog communication. At Happy Pets Palace, we don't just monitor dogs; we become part of their pack. We love and care for them as if they were our own!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• As a Pet Care Specialist, your primary responsibility is ensuring the safety and well-being of dogs of all sizes, from 4 pounds to 160 pounds. The role involves actively monitoring group dog play to maintain a safe and fun environment. Be prepared for hands-on experiences - you'll be slobbered on, and stepping in poop at least once is inevitable!
• This is a highly active role requiring constant attention to dog interactions through watching and listening. A natural love for dogs and a genuine enjoyment of interacting with them is essential. This is not a sit-down job - expect to be on your feet, moving throughout your shift.
• Cleaning responsibilities include: Picking up poop, Washing dishes, doing laundry, and maintaining a clean environment, including mopping the lobby and cleaning restrooms. Additional tasks as assigned by the shift lead or manager.
• There is potential for future opportunities in front desk customer service role.

Fixed scheduled hours, and flexible when needed

Time and a half pay on six holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day

Job Types: Full-time

Hourly: $15.15 part-time to $15.25 full time to start, increase after passing dog breed quiz, increase at 90-days, 6-months, annually, and extra $20 w/e bonuses tip share which is another $1 per hour)
