What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate position at Happy Horse Tack Shop?
The Happy Horse Tack Shop is one of the few locally owned, brick and mortar tack stores left in Colorado. We have been in business for almost 40 years and are thriving with the support of our equestrian community in the Northern Colorado area. We not only have our brick and mortar location but also have an online shop, a mobile unit that goes out during show season and an expert saddle fitter who travels around Colorado saddle fitting. We are currently looking for a knowledgeable and friendly sales associate to join our small, close-knit team!
Our sales associates work on our sales floor working directly to help our clients and meet their needs. You will need to have or quickly gain an extensive knowledge of tack, products, apparel and supplies. This job also entails cleaning tack, unpacking and tagging products as they come in, answering phone calls, staying up to date on the latest products and trends and more.
This position may also include working shifts on our mobile unit during show season at different locations around Colorado.
Qualifications:
- Equestrian background and knowledge, sales background not required but a huge plus
- Able to work 20-30 hours a week including weekdays and weekends. Shifts are during daytime hours.
- Great attitude, friendly, helpful, independent, not afraid to get dirty
- Must have reliable transportation
- Able to learn quickly and think on your feet
- Must be able to follow procedures
- Must be able to work independently and run the shop solo
There will be a 1-2 month trial/training period to ensure that you are a good fit for our shop. Compensation will depend on experience, starting at $15 an hour.
