Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Orthodontic assistant / coordinator / biller to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children annd andults and a strong understanding of orthodontic procedures. This role is essential in providing a positive experience for our patients while assisting the dentist in delivering high-quality care.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Record medical documentation accurately, including patient history and vital signs.
- Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient records using software, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Operate 3D scanners to assist in creating accurate dental impressions when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
- Present treatment plan and payment plan
- Periodic billing of ortho procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as an dental assistant is preferred, particularly in orthodontics
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and endodontics is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and the ability to take vital signs accurately.
- Proficient in using dental software systems, is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and their families.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
