Position: Teaching Assistant, Happy Hollow
Position Summary: Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):

Provide academic support to students in classroom and small-group settings

Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities and lessons

Support students in completing assignments and classroom projects

Help prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials and classroom resources

Facilitate student participation in classroom activities and routines
-
Reinforce classroom expectations and positive behavior strategies
-
Assist with classroom management and supervision as directed by the classroom teacher
-
Supervise students and program activities as directed by the immediate supervisor
-
Support students' social-emotional development and foster positive peer interactions
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and school staff to support student success
-
Communicate with families regarding classroom activities when appropriate and directed by the classroom teacher or administrator

Participate in training and professional development as required
-
Work collaboratively with district and school staff to promote equitable access and address systemic barriers
-
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children is highly preferred.
Cultural Competency: Experience with diverse populations and a strong commitment to Wayland’s goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Professionalism: Strong communication skills and the personal characteristics necessary to serve as a positive role model for students.
Education and Experience:

Advanced Degree: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

DESE Licensure: Not required; paraprofessional certification preferred

SEI Endorsement: Not required
Work Schedule and Compensation:
Hours: 30.08 per week
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:45am-2:30pm
Wednesday: 7:30am-1:35pm
Salary: $25.63-$33.89 an hour

Salary : $26 - $34
