Happy Hollow Country Club is seeking a motivated and creative Summer Communications & Digital Content Intern to support the Club’s Digital Content & Communications Specialist in producing strategic member communications and supporting digital content initiatives across all departments.
This is not a traditional desk internship. This is a hands-on, fast-paced, creative role where every day looks different. From poolside events and golf tournaments to wine dinners and social events, this intern will be immersed in the heart of Club life while helping tell the story of Happy Hollow.
What You’ll Do
📧 Weekly Communications & Email Marketing
- Assist in producing weekly member communication emails
- Help draft, edit, and format email content
- Coordinate messaging across departments
- Ensure branding consistency across all communications
- Support campaign planning for major events and seasonal initiatives
🎨 Design & Communications
- Create digital and print flyers
- Assist in menu design and event collateral
- Help produce newsletter videos
- Assist in layout and production of print newsletters
- Support website updates and content maintenance
🎥 Event Coverage
- Attend Club events for live content capture
- Photograph golf tournaments, pool events, dining features, tennis programs, and more
- Capture behind-the-scenes content
- Work flexible hours to support evening and weekend events as needed
📱 Social Media & Content Creation
- Assist in producing and editing content for:
- TikTok
- X
- Capture event coverage (photo video)
- Create Reels and short-form video content
- Assist with content planning and brainstorming
- Collaborate on trending ideas and campaign concepts
🤝 Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work alongside Golf, Tennis, Pool, Food & Beverage, and Member Services teams
- Capture content that highlights the full Club experience
- Assist in telling a cohesive brand story across departments
Qualifications
- Rising junior or senior in college (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, Business, or related field preferred)
- Prior experience using:
- DSLR or mirrorless camera
- iPhone for content capture
- Laptop/computer for editing and design
- Familiarity with social media platforms and trends
- Basic knowledge of photo/video editing software (CapCut, Final Cut, Adobe, Canva, etc.)
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, polished demeanor (member-facing environment)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Bonus:
- Graphic design experience
- Own camera equipment (not required — equipment can be provided)
Schedule & Compensation
- Seasonal: May–August
- 20 hours per week (flexible based on event schedule)
- Must be available for:
- Some evenings
- Select weekends
- Occasional holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, etc.)
Compensation:
- $18 per hour, based on experience
