What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ecommerce Marketing Manager position at Happy Chef Uniforms?
Happy Chef is looking for a hands-on e-commerce operator to own the day-to-day execution and improvement of our website and customer lifecycle marketing.
This is an individual-contributor role for someone who likes working inside the platforms. You will personally build and deploy campaigns in DotDigital, create segments and automated journeys, update and merchandise content in Adobe Commerce, QA every customer touchpoint, and turn performance data into clear next actions. The right person has done this work directly.
What You’ll Do:
Email and lifecycle marketing
- Translate commercial priorities into a coordinated email and on-site campaign calendar.
- Build, QA, schedule, deploy, and monitor email campaigns end to end in DotDigital using approved templates and creative assets.
- Own subject lines, preheaders, audience selection, exclusions, personalization, product blocks, links, UTMs, test sends, approvals, and post-send checks.
- Build useful customer segments based on purchase behavior, engagement, customer type, product interest, and lifecycle stage.
- Maintain audience and data health, including consent, preferences, suppressions, bounces, source tracking, and re-engagement rules.
- Build and optimize automated programs such as abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, and win-back.
- Configure and validate dynamic product recommendations so customers see the correct products, variants, prices, and links.
- Improve customer-facing transactional communications and coordinate with technical resources when a new commerce, OMS, or carrier event is required.
- Monitor deliverability and campaign performance, then recommend specific changes to audience, cadence, content, offer, and automation logic.
Website operations and merchandising
- Own routine admin-editable updates in Adobe Commerce/Magento, including landing pages, sale and best-seller pages, content blocks, banners, copy, imagery, product assignments, category sorting, and promotional content.
- Coordinate email and site changes for promotions, product launches, seasonal moments, and other commercial priorities.
- Keep the storefront accurate and current across desktop and mobile, with disciplined QA of content, prices, products, links, promotions, and landing-page continuity.
- Review site and merchandising performance and identify practical improvements to navigation, category presentation, product discovery, conversion, and average order value.
- Resolve platform and configuration issues directly; turn code or integration issues into clear developer requirements and own acceptance testing.
Analytics and operating discipline
- Build concise weekly and monthly reporting across Dotdigital, Adobe Commerce, and GA4.
- Track the metrics that matter: conversion, revenue per recipient, attributed revenue, clicks, automation revenue, list growth and health, unsubscribes, complaints, deliverability, site conversion, and AOV.
- Establish consistent campaign naming, link tracking, UTM conventions, QA checklists, and documentation
- Report what happened, why it matters, and what should change next.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of hands-on e-commerce, email, retention, or lifecycle marketing experience for a consumer or DTC business.
- A record of personally building, testing, deploying, and reporting on email campaigns and automated programs.
- Strong hands-on experience in an e-commerce ESP or marketing automation platform; Dotdigital experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience managing content and merchandising in an e-commerce CMS; Adobe Commerce/Magento experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with segmentation, behavioral and commerce data, abandoned-cart or browse programs, and dynamic product recommendations.
- Working knowledge of GA4, campaign attribution, link tracking, and UTM governance.
- Basic HTML/CSS fluency sufficient to adjust email modules and troubleshoot content issues.
- Excellent production judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to distinguish a content/configuration issue from a code or integration issue.
- Clear, concise communication with both business leadership and technical partners.
