After-School Teacher - Part-Time (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM)

Happy Bees Center is looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable After-School Teacher to join our team. You'll supervise and engage school-age children after school, helping them with homework, activities, and a safe, positive afternoon until pickup.

Schedule:

Part-time, Monday–Friday

3:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Welcome children as they arrive from school and keep them safe and supervised at all times

Help children with homework and reading

Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, STEM, and outdoor play

Serve snacks and support good hygiene and healthy habits

Guide behavior in a positive, respectful, and consistent way

Communicate with parents at pick-up about their child's day

Follow all Texas HHSC childcare licensing minimum standards, including child-to-teacher ratios

Keep the classroom clean, organized, and safe

Complete sign-in/sign-out procedures and daily attendance accurately

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old (meeting Texas HHSC caregiver requirements)

High school diploma or GED

Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting

Experience working with school-age children preferred

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Completion of required annual childcare training hours (we can help guide you)

Reliable, punctual, and patient with a positive attitude

Good communication skills, English required; Spanish a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

CDA, college coursework in Early Childhood Education, or related field

Prior experience in a daycare, school, or after-school program
