Job Title: Supportive Housing AssistantLocation: Happiness House - Canandaigua ApartmentsSalary: $20.00 per hourEmployment: Part Time position (10 hours per week). Days and hours are flexible and determined based on tenant/activity schedule. Schedule to include 2 weekday evenings and 1 weekend day. Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience providing supports and services to special populations, experience working with individuals over the age of 55 preferred
- Proven ability to work independently
- Valid NYS drivers license/dependable vehicle Competency Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Recreational experience preferred but not required Responsibilities include:

- Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
- Offers and supports formal and informal opportunities for assigned tenants to socialize with their peers and families.
- Promotes on-going socialization outside those activities scheduled by them.
- Offers and promotes activities (individual and small group) that enhances tenants understanding of and access to community activities and resources.
- Offers and promotes activities (group and/or individual) that maintain or improve cognitive function, problem solving and activities of daily living.
- Provides activities and supports that promote orientation (person, place, time) as required for assigned tenants.
- Maintains confidentiality of information relating to tenants and their families in accordance with agency policy.
- Works collaboratively with the Housing Specialist to keep them informed of any concerns that could impact the tenants housing.
- Has face to face contact with assigned tenants at least 4 times per month to encourage participation in activities.
- Maintains written records that meets agency and regulatory requirements of interactions and supports provided to assigned tenants.
- Provide tenants with reminders of any routine trainings and tenant activities available to them through the apartment complex.
- Completes required funder reports.
- Reports any hazardous situation to Maintenance and Apartment Manager immediately.
- Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training to enhance job skills and personal growth and development as determined by the Supervisor.
- Adheres to the agencys policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.
- Performs other duties at the discretion of the Program Director or Vice-President or his/her designee.
- Participates in conferences, workshops, department meetings and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
