Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Taekwondo Instructor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in martial arts, sports coaching, and teaching, with the ability to motivate and guide students of all ages. Prior experience working with children and managing behavior is highly valued. The instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in a safe and supportive environment, fostering skill development, and encouraging a love for martial arts.
Responsibilities
- Lead Taekwondo classes for students of various ages and skill levels, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed
- Follow lesson plans that incorporate martial arts fundamentals, physical education principles, and character-building activities
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement
- Manage class behavior effectively to maintain a positive learning environment
- Incorporate other physical activities into training sessions when appropriate
- Ensure all equipment and training areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition
- Communicate regularly with owner as well as parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavior management strategies
- Foster a motivating atmosphere that encourages teamwork, discipline, and personal growth
Qualifications
- Proven experience in martial arts such as Taekwondo, Karate, Judo, or similar disciplines
- Background in sports coaching or teaching physical education preferred
- Experience working with children or students in an educational or recreational setting
- Skills in behavior management and following lesson plans
- Knowledge of health club or gym environments is a plus
- First aid and/or CPR skills advantageous but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse age groups
- Certification in martial arts instructing or coaching is desirable but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary

We are one of the oldest martial arts schools in Pennsylvania and were founded in 1983. Our curriculum is based on traditional martial arts training and includes highly structured lesson plans that includes not only empty hands training, but over a dozen martial arts weapons. Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
