Process Technician


Reports to: Process Engineer Location: Dalton, GA Classification: Hourly


SUMMARY

The Process Technicians are responsible in gathering data from various manufacturing and inspection equipment throughout the manufacturing plant to assist Process Engineers in analyzing possible causes of production defects and continuous process improvements.

Training on data collection and work procedures will be provided upon hire.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gathers, records and enters paperwork to generate production records.
  • Collect production and process data through routine inspections, observations, testing activities, and documentation of manufacturing processes.
  • Performs periodic audits of machine settings, process controls settings, work instructions, manuals throughout the manufacturing line.
  • Actively participate and assist projects that improve worker safety and minimize incident risk.
  • Completes process equipment inspections and defect rate/proportion reports.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, determine root causes of defects, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and reduce defect rates.
  • Perform routine process verification activities to evaluate process consistency, stability, and adherence to established operating standards.
  • Provides on the job training support to new employees.
  • Completes specific area cleanings and provides general housekeeping throughout the facility.
  • Execute all required duties while practicing safe work methods and adhering to all plant safety rules.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Qcells.
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Frequently move between production equipment and manufacturing lines.
  • Occasionally climb ladders or step stools up to approximately four feet.
  • Frequently team lift, carry, move, and position production materials and modules up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and reach to inspect equipment, document production conditions, photograph defects, and perform process verification activities.
  • Frequently manipulate production materials, machine components, and product assemblies during inspections and testing activities.
  • Occasionally push, pull, or reposition production materials and equipment during troubleshooting activities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Moving mechanical equipment and automated production machinery.
  • Industrial noise requiring the use of hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Bright or flashing lights associated with manufacturing and inspection equipment.
  • Varying temperatures and humidity levels in production areas that are not climate controlled.
  • Dust, airborne particles, and other manufacturing-related environmental conditions.
  • Use of chemicals, cleaning agents, and other materials in accordance with established safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Frequent interaction with active production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant sleeves, gloves, steel-toed footwear, and other PPE as required by the work area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12 – 18 months experience in an industrial manufacturing position
  • Basic data entry experience
  • Able to work long shifts, including availability to work at nights

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing position in a continuous operation.
