SUMMARY
The Legal Counsel role will be responsible for providing in-house legal advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, including contracts, employment law, customs and trade law, and compliance. The Legal Counsel will assist in the resolution of disputes and manage litigation/arbitration, while reviewing and interpreting legal requirements and effectively communicating these to the business/external stakeholders. This position reports to the Sr. Legal Counsel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide legal support and guidance to the business team and management on a variety of legal issues.
· Manage and resolve legal disputes, including disputes with commercial parties.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
· Provide supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the company with their specialized legal services.
· Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents, including purchase agreements, sales agreements, service agreements, and lease agreements.
· Design, build, and improve legal team processes.
· Consult and protect Qcells against legal risks, penalties, and investigations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or an equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
· A member in good standing with a state bar association.
· 1-3 years of experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both).
· Professional legal experience handling legal disputes such as litigation and arbitration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 3 years of experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both).
· Bilingual (Korean & English).
· Experience in the solar industry, energy sector, or manufacturing industry.
· Experience in managing construction disputes.
