Location: Jupiter, Florida or Houston Energy Corridor Area (Hybrid: 50% Home / 50% In-Office) Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Position Overview We are an industry-leading aftermarket energy services provider searching for seasoned power plant professionals—including former Control Room Operators, I&C Technicians, and mechanical specialists—who are ready to transition into a centralized corporate environment.

In this role, you will serve as the operational nerve center for our remote diagnostics division. Our facility tracks the real-time performance of over 70 utility-scale combustion turbines globally. By filtering and analyzing incoming alarms, you will identify early warning signs of equipment degradation, troubleshoot active trips or load reductions, and guide on-site personnel through corrective actions. You will utilize internal knowledge bases and collaborate with our specialized engineering departments (Controls, Vibration, Combustion Tuning, and R&D) to ensure our clients maintain optimal generation capacity.

Core Responsibilities

  • Continuously observe and analyze the performance of primarily heavy-duty industrial turbines. A basic understanding of heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), and balance-of-plant systems are useful.
  • Serve as the first line of technical support for diverse GE7FA, SW501, M501, OEM, and variations of Hanwha Flamesheet combustion systems. Advising site personnel on troubleshooting strategies, operational adjustments, and root-cause investigations.
  • Utilize enterprise-level plant PI software and time-series data visualization tools to track thermodynamic trends and system parameters.
  • Monitor specialized high-capacity centrifugal compression GE 7EA trains acting as prime movers in liquefied natural gas (LNG) applications.
  • Triage automated system alerts, resolving baseline issues independently while escalating highly complex mechanical or control events to specialized engineering teams.
  • Communicate urgently and clearly with client facilities via phone and written correspondence to provide mitigation steps during forced outages or load runbacks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department by documenting novel equipment behaviors and expanding our internal database of known operational indicators.
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour continuous operations schedules (including nights and weekends for remote shifts) and respond to critical escalations as needed.
  • Comply with all assigned environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulatory training protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. An Associate degree from a technical/vocational institution is highly preferred, OR equivalent applied experience gained through military service or utility-scale power generation employment.
  • Industry Experience: At least two years of direct, hands-on experience in a heavy industrial power plant working in Operations, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), Maintenance, or Plant Engineering.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid grasp of turbine control logic architectures, supervisory instrumentation, and alarm limits. Strong foundational understanding of fluid mechanics, electrical theory, and general physics.
  • Software Proficiency: Highly capable in modern IT environments, including navigating secure remote VPNs, PI Vision, shared workspaces, data processing software, and complex file hierarchies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior hands-on involvement with turbine unit commissioning, plant startups, or deep mechanical diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with major OEM distributed control systems (DCS).
  • Experience overseeing dry gas seal systems and large-scale centrifugal compressors.
  • Advanced ability to interpret technical documentation, including complex Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and control logic schematics.
  • Bilingual proficiency (specifically in Spanish or Korean) is considered a strong asset for international client support.
