Position Summary
Hanwha Global Defense seeks an energetic and experienced Senior Communications Manager to execute media campaigns across the defense ecosystem. This role will require aggressive earned-media pitching to mainstream and defense publications, ghostwriting thought-provoking op-eds, coordinating messaging campaigns at defense and national security conferences, drafting talking points for high-level company executives, working extensively with our government relations team, and much more.
This role may require international travel as it will help develop narratives regarding our growing shipbuilding and defense businesses across the U.S., Australia, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the U.S. government or defense industry, familiarity with industrial or national security policy, exceptional writing skills, and working relationships with reporters in the defense/national security sector.
Required skills
- At least 5 years working in communications for the Pentagon, Capitol Hill, or defense industry.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and on quick deadlines.
- Creative, out-of-the-box storytelling.
- Excellent writing skills to draft talking points, presentations, opinion pieces, memos, and media pitches.
- Understands the global national security/foreign policy space.
