Summary:
Responsible for packing, shipping, and receiving all materials to and from the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet necessary specifications
- Use a computer to identify customers shipping and packaging requirements
- Utilize work instructions to determine the method of shipment, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
- Compare identifying information, count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and/or outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on packages
- Stamps, stencils, or glues any identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Route items to the appropriate departments
- Exam outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Maintain the inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
- Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
- High School Degree or G.E.D
- 1 years of experience in shipping and receiving or a manufacturing/warehouse environment
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word)
- Ability to travel domestically – 5% max
