Summary:
Our Precision Components division is looking for an Assembler to assemble aircraft component parts following operation sheets & blueprints using a variety of small hand tools and machinery.
Essential Functions:
- Assemble complex aerospace components.
- Inspect and verify quality of work when complete.
- Using micrometers and calipers to verify work performed is conforming to BP tolerance
- Files and buff part to fit.
- Drill, tap, ream, countersink parts using a Bridgeport.
- Positions and aligns parts.
- Bolts, screws, and rivets parts together.
- Disassemble and replace parts as required.
- Cleans and lubricates parts and assemblies.
- Lift pieces and positions and secures it on a machine table or in holding fixtures.
- Assist other assemblers and employees as required to meet production and safety requirements.
- Performs daily 6S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) activities in work area
- Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
- High School Degree or G.E.D
- 1 years of experience in assembly preferably in a Aerospace Manufacturing environment
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel domestically – 10% max
