What are the responsibilities and job description for the Developer Community Manager position at Hanson Consulting Group?

Hanson Consulting Group is seeking a talented Developer Community Manager to join our team to support our client in the gaming industry! We’re seeking a highly skilled individual to help grow and support our client’s global network of game creators through the creation of regular, compelling content that helps them build, learn, and grow. You’ll act as the bridge between the developer community and client stakeholders by creating and curating engagement content for platforms that allow the community to engage with each other as well as our client.

The ideal candidate has proven community-building and storytelling expertise, excels at creating cross-team/cross-organizational relationships, thrives in a fast-paced environment that combines creative initiative with data-driven decision making, and has a deep passion for gaming.


Candidates will be required submit or show a portfolio or work examples showcasing related work.


Responsibilities Include:


Community Management:

· Grow the client’s Developer Community by developing and implementing community activations across community/social channels.

· Foster a strong connection between their community and stakeholders/SMEs by organizing and hosting digital and in-person community events such as webinars, office hours, workshops.

· Monitor and analyze community interactions and behaviors to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for community growth.

· Engage with game creators across different platforms including X, LinkedIn, BlueSky, Discord, and more.


Content Creation:

· Create and curate content such as blogs and videos that elevate our client’s efforts in building their game development community.

· Educate the Game Dev Community on the latest updates to the latest tools used to develop for our client's platforms.

· Create and publish content for Game Dev Community channels including X, LinkedIn, BlueSky, Discord, and more.


Cross-Team Collaboration:

· Collaborate with SMEs to establish two-way communication between the community and client SMEs.

· Advocate for the community internally, bringing user feedback, concerns, and insights to internal the right teams.


Desired Skills & Requirements:

· 5 years of community development, 2 focused on game development communities.

· 3 years creating content to represent communities including short-form social post and long-form blogs.

· Self-motivated with demonstrated examples of organizational and project management skills.


Preferred Skills:

· Experience with gaming or developer-focused communications. Experience working at large game studio or industry company is a plus.

Familiarity with industry Game Development tools such as Azure, PlayFab, .NET, and more.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
