High volume Private Lender currently has an opening for a full time Controller. The environment in the office is very dynamic, so we are looking for someone who can thrive in demanding, fast paced, multi-faceted surroundings. The ideal candidate would have 7-10 years of supervisory and systems-design experience in a dynamic real estate and/or mortgage banking environment; as well as experience with multiple accounting platforms.

Job Summary and Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting and finance functions of 25 organizational entities
- Assure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Implement and regularly assess internal controls over accounting and finance
- Mentor and assist team in complex accounting and financial transactions
- Document policies and procedures and implement a continuous improvement program
- Support executive team in all strategic and financial efforts including annual strategic planning, deal assessment, key performance indicator tracking, etc.
- Oversee/supervise the day-to-day bookkeeping for all entities; including payroll administration, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, TPT filings, bank and loan activity, and intercompany account reconciliation, as applicable.
- Utilize Yardi accounting software to calculate and disburse distribution waterfalls to loan and fund investors.
- Work with both capital and lending software systems to manage lending functions, including interest and payment calculations, collections, payoffs and distributions
- Act as a liaison between the principals and the CPA firm preparing the tax returns for all entities.
- Design and implement systems which will lead to monthly consolidation and reporting of all financial results for all entities.
- Manage ongoing (daily or weekly) “dashboard” reporting.
- Design and implement budget/forecasting for the various business lines.
- Act as a liaison with the CPA firm performing the annual audit on the mortgage bank.

Qualifications:
- 3 years experience supervisory or management level accounting / controller experience
- At least 3 years experience in real estate, lending or related industry
- Familiarity working with and consolidation of multiple entities and intercompany transactions
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
