What are the responsibilities and job description for the Perishable Specialist position at HANSENS IGA INC?
The Perishable Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the Perishable Department operations in all Hansen's IGA Market locations including their financial results. They must plan, organize, direct, and control activities and operations plus make effective and objective decisions regarding operational choices in work procedures, inventory allocations, ordering, and scheduling. The position is responsible for coordinating all product offerings, recipes and retail pricing on all Perishable Department products offered in our locations. A qualified applicant will need to be able to effectively communicate with department specialists, department managers, Store Managers and report results to management.
- Demonstrated passion for Customer Service with the ability to train and motivate others to deliver Customer Service Excellence.
- Proven track record of exceeding expectations as it relates to the responsibilities of successfully running a perishable department.
- Demonstrate and proven track record in their ability to build sales, achieve economic and financial goals including profit margin and labor costs.
- Excellent business skills including mathematical proficiency, computer skills, financial analysis skills, writing skills, ability to develop and execute business plans.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record to motivate, inspire and lead teams to exceed standards and expectations.
- Ability to use technical and financial information to identify and solve problems.
- Highly developed industry knowledge and food merchandising skills.
- Ability to see the big picture as well as focus on day-to-day critical details.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive supermarket store management experience.
- Ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, weekends, etc.
- Willingness to live and relocate, if necessary, within the trade area
