What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership and development for a team of buyers and planners, driving excellence in daily operations while advancing long-term process optimization and performance improvements
- Own MRP planning activities, including order management, reschedules, and exception handling
- Maintain and improve key planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, lot sizes)
- Reduce stockouts, excess inventory, and expediting through better planning discipline
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and supplier performance
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs, and payment terms
- Manage supplier relationships and performance (OTD, quality, responsiveness)
- Partner with operations, engineering, and finance to align supply with business needs
- Identify risks, solve problems quickly, and implement long-term fixes—not just firefighting
- 5–8 years in manufacturing, purchasing, planning, or supply chain
- Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, Oracle, etc.)
- Solid understanding of inventory planning (min/max, reorder points, service levels)
- Proven ability to negotiate and drive cost savings
- Experience improving inventory performance and supply reliability
- Strong analytical skills (Excel proficiency required)
- Ability to communicate clearly and work cross-functionally
