Responsibilities
- Case Management: Oversee and manage a caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring timely progress and compliance with deadlines.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- File Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed, stored, and easily accessible.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on case law, statutes, and legal precedents relevant to ongoing cases.
- Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule appointments, court dates, meetings, and deadlines for attorneys and clients.
- Discovery Process: Assist in gathering evidence, organizing discovery materials, and managing the exchange of documents between parties.
- Client Intake: Conduct initial client interviews, gather pertinent information, and open new case files.
- Liaison Role: Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, experts, and other parties involved in the case.
- Case Strategy Support: Work closely with attorneys to develop case strategies, including trial preparation and settlement discussions.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all work complies with applicable laws and ethical standards, and keep clients informed of case status.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a legal intake or client services role is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and empathize with clients effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and case management systems is advantageous.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry and documentation.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
