Job Overview:
As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at our retail store. You will be responsible for processing sales transactions accurately, handling cash, resolving customer inquiries, and maintaining a positive shopping experience for all customers.
Duties:
- Provide a positive customer experience with friendly and courteous service
- Scan items, itemize purchases, and total customers' transactions using a cash register
- Resolve customer issues promptly and answer questions effectively
- Bag purchases as necessary and assist with processing return transactions
- Record prices, departments, taxable and nontaxable items accurately during checkout
- Enter price changes based on price sheets and special sale bulletins
- Redeem coupons and apply discounts to purchases
- Accept cash, check, or charge payments from customers and provide accurate change
- Balance cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of each shift
- Offer pricing information to customers when needed
- Follow checkout procedures diligently and report any necessary changes
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to rules and regulations
- Contribute to the team effort by achieving related results as required
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers
- Sales experience or willingness to learn sales techniques
- Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Knowledge of electronics sales (nice-to-have)
- Ability to upsell products and conduct product demonstrations
- Experience in stock management or willingness to learn stock procedures
- Proficient in cash handling procedures
- Familiarity with appliance sales (nice-to-have)
