About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Base Pool at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts
This position is a FLEX position and is not guaranteed hours, may work 0 - 40 hours a week. May be required to work evenings, weekends or holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in Lifesaving and Water Rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (adult and child) training. Must have experience which proves a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.
Responsibilities:
Observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.
