What are the responsibilities and job description for the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (ACDP) - DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY position at Hanscom AFB?
The primary purpose of this position is developmental trainee under the Accelerated Compensation for Developmental Positions (ACDP) structure. This program is intended to develop high-performing individuals who can deal effectively with change and complexity within the Air Force financial management environment. The FM trainee carries out recurring assignments independently; conducts successive activities with objectives and priorities identified by supervisor or team leader.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must 3 years of progressively responsible general experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4,at least one year of which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (NH-1601-01) level or equivalent (grade level, pay schedule, pay band, etc) and is described in detail in my resume. An example of creditable general experience is experience in compiling pertinent financial and operating data from records and reports for use by higher level financial management personnel, monitoring incurred obligations and resulting expenditures of funds with different sources to ensure alignment with annual financial plans and participating in cost comparison studies of current or projected programs. NOTE: Due to the use of 120 day rosters; general experience maybe completed within 120 days of the closing of this announcement

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of well-established laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods and techniques applicable to common budgeting, cost analysis, and financial analysis work.
2. Knowledge of commonly use budget formulation and execution practices, procedures, and guidelines, as well as fundamental cost and economic analysis concepts.
3. Knowledge of management theories, principles, concepts and practices; knowledge of life cycle management and acquisition processes.
4. Knowledge of the methods and techniques of research inquiry and cost.
5. Ability to collect, research and analyze data and to interpret findings, and the ability to use IT to do so.
6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and interact effectively with others.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
