Accountant (Accounts Receivable Focus)

Position Summary
Hans-Mill Corp is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant (Accounts Receivable Focus) to support core accounting functions, including general ledger activities, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month and quarter-end close process, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and the ability to work across multiple areas of the accounting cycle.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support accruals, prepaids, and amortization schedules
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis
Accounts Receivable
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and timely
- Apply cash receipts and reconcile customer payments
- Monitor and manage A/R aging reports
- Follow up on outstanding balances and coordinate collections efforts
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and deductions
Operational & Support Functions
- Assist with inventory accounting and cost tracking
- Provide required documentation as requested by various governmental agencies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, logistics) to ensure accurate financial data
- Maintain accurate records within the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar)
- Identify and implement process improvements within accounting workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience through self-directed study
- 1–2 years of experience in general accounting and/or accounts receivable; however, we are open to the right entry-level candidate if their foundational knowledge and technical aptitude are exceptionally strong.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SAP, or similar) preferred
- Knowledge of Mandarin is considered a plus.
- Experience with inventory, manufacturing, or distribution accounting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
