What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine (Boat) Technician Trainee position at Hans Boat Works?
Hans’ Boat Works has been serving the boating industry for over 25 years. We pride ourselves in our service and boat sales. We are currently looking for someone to help out in our service department. We are looking for people who want to stay around long-term, as we are willing to train. We work Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with possibility for working overtime in summer months. These are full time, permanent positions with benefits and vacation.
We have a full service dealership and can fulfill various types of mechanic positions. This position includes everything from washing boats and cleaning the shop, to oil changes and engine rebuilds, upholstery work and painting. We frequently work on boats that cost as much as $300,000 or more and we need someone that is exceptionally detail oriented and willing to learn how we do things. We are looking for someone who asks questions when they do not understand. Since we are a small business, our ideal applicant needs to be self-motivated and willing to do whatever is needed around the shop.
Typical Duties: Wash boats, shop maintenance (cleaning, sweeping floors, cleaning work benches, keeping area tidy), oil changes, tune-ups, impellers, paint prep and work, welding and fabrication.
Requirements: Mechanically inclined (doesn’t require prior marine experience, but attention to detail and a basic knowledge of how things work is essential). Excellent customer service and communication is preferred, detail oriented, organized, ability to multi-task, ability to meet deadlines, punctual and reliable.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
