What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at Hanover Veterinary Hospital?
Busy veterinary hospital seeking a part-time kennel attendant.
Veterinary experience a plus. Love of animals and a friendly personality is a must!
The pets that board with us are our family and we treat them as such. We are a Fear Free certified practice and do everything we can to alleviate fear, anxiety and stress in all our patients and boarders.
Must be available to work different shifts- weekend and holiday availability required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Feeding and medicating cats and dogs
- Supervising individual outdoor playtime
- Providing enrichment items and activities to our boarders
- Letting dogs out several times per shift
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, outdoor areas, and the hospital
- Animal handling/ restraint
- Trimming nails and obtaining intake vitals with assistance
- Bathing and drying cats and dogs
- Washing, drying, and folding laundry
- Maintaining an organized, safe, clean, and low stress environment for our boarders
- Reviewing paperwork with clients
- Communicating with clients as requested through calls, texts, or photos
- Intake and discharge of boarders
- Alerting management to any emotional or medical issues that arise with boarders
- Other tasks and responsibilities as indicated by management
