Produce Manager - Lebanon Store - Full Time

Position Overview:

Responsible for maintaining department inventory, including re-ordering, and stocking of department items. Ensures high level of beverage quality and service.  Works in partnership with the Store Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Stays within the annual budget for Produce Department in coordination with the Store Manager
2. Follows the Manager’s Code of Conduct
3. Ensures that the Co-op’s policies and procedures are enforced and administered in a timely fashion and recommends any changes warranted
4. Orchestrates the daily functions of the Produce Department
5. Responsible for Produce inventory, ordering and vendor relations
6. Responsible for stocking and merchandising all department areas.
7. Works with Store Manager to ensure proper signage and clean, attractive displays and cases
8. Conducts or oversees regular meetings and huddles with Produce Department
9. Works with the Store Manager on implementing merchandising strategies including weekly specials, demos, sampling events, and special promotions
10. Contributes ideas for new products, techniques and systems to improve Produce operations
11. Maintains Produce Department sanitation procedures and ensures compliance with governmental regulations
12. Monitors and works with Supervisors on rotation of product to ensure product freshness
13. Ensures highest level of customer service
    • listens and responds to complaints and suggestions from all to improve Produce performance
14. Schedules Produce department and oversees scheduling
15. Receives and handles call-outs for staff directly supervised
16. Works with the Store Manager on hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, promotion, retention and dismissal of all Produce
17. Check Co-op email at least once per week
18. Set standard for expected behavior in adhering to all food safety procedures
19. Participate in department meetings and complete all required trainings for the purpose of maintaining Co-op standards
20. Adhere to all Co-op policies, procedures and employee code of conduct
21. Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Experience and Attributes:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Two years of supervisory experience
3. Ability to represent the Co-op in a positive manner
4. Two plus years and knowledge of local growers and product
5. Ability to multi-task
6. Proficiency in ECRS POS system and processes
7. Set an excellent example for new employees
8. Proficiency in use of computer software, Office 365, Excel and Word
9. Serve Safe certification, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months
10. Excellent follow through

Equipment Used:

Computer register, scanner, adding machines, computer, knives, box cutters, U-boats, carts, and phone system.

Attendance Requirements: 

Flexible hours, including weekend and evening shifts.  Availability to be scheduled to work any day of the week, according to department needs.

Work Environment:

Office area, sales floor, walk-in cooler and/or freezer, prepared foods kitchen area, and receiving. 

Physical Requirements:

Standing for long periods of time, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, and speaking.  Must be able to comfortably lift on a regular basis.

The salary range for this position is $52,041.60 to $78,041.60. This range represents the full earning potential for the role as skills and tenure grow. The expected hiring range is $54,080 to $62,400, which supports internal equity and aligns with current budget parameters, while preserving opportunity for future increases.
