Meat/Seafood Manager - Hanover Store - Full Time

Position Overview:

Responsible for maintaining department inventory, including re-ordering, and stocking of department items. Ensures high level of beverage quality and service.  Works in partnership with the Store Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Stays within the annual budget for Meat/Seafood Department in coordination with the Store Manager
2. Follows the Manager’s Code of Conduct
3. Ensures that the Co-op’s policies and procedures are enforced and administered in a timely fashion and recommends any changes warranted
4. Orchestrates the daily functions of the Meat/Seafood Department
5. Responsible for Meat/Seafood inventory, ordering and vendor relations
6. Responsible for stocking and merchandising all department areas.
7. Works with Store Manager to ensure proper signage and clean, attractive displays and cases
8. Conducts or oversees regular meetings and huddles with Meat/Seafood Department
9. Works with the Store Manager on implementing merchandising strategies including weekly specials, demos, sampling events, and special promotions
10. Contributes ideas for new products, techniques and systems to improve Meat/Seafood operations
11. Maintains Meat/Seafood Department sanitation procedures and ensures compliance with governmental regulations
12. Monitors and works with Supervisors on rotation of product to ensure product freshness
13. Ensures highest level of customer service
    • listens and responds to complaints and suggestions from all to improve Meat/Seafood performance
14. Schedules Meat/Seafood department and oversees scheduling

Required Skills/Experience and Attributes:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Two years of supervisory experience
3. Ability to represent the Co-op in a positive manner
4. Two plus years and knowledge of local growers and product
5. Ability to multi-task
6. Proficiency in ECRS POS system and processes
7. Set an excellent example for new employees
8. Proficiency in use of computer software, Office 365, Excel and Word
9. Serve Safe certification, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months
10. Excellent follow through

Attendance Requirements: 

Flexible hours, including weekend and evening shifts.  Availability to be scheduled to work any day of the week, according to department needs.

Physical Requirements:

Standing for long periods of time, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, and speaking.  Must be able to comfortably lift on a regular basis.

Salary : $25 - $38
