Summary
We are seeking a Swim Instructor to join our team at the YMCA. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and abilities while promoting water safety and confidence. Your contributions will help enhance the lives of our community members through aquatic education.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct swim lessons for various skill levels, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Teach swimming techniques and water safety skills to participants of all ages.
- Monitor participants' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe pool area in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with other staff members to promote aquatic programs and events.
- Engage with parents or guardians to discuss their child's progress and address any concerns.
Requirements
- Current certification in Lifeguarding/CPR/AED is required.
- Previous experience in teaching swimming or coaching is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with participants and parents.
- Ability to demonstrate swimming techniques clearly and effectively.
- Experience working with students or youth in an educational setting is a plus.
