POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a quality management system that ensures that all products and services meet the company's quality standards and the customer requirements. The Quality Manager also works to improve the company's quality performance and reduce quality costs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement a quality management system that meets the requirements of IATF 16949 and customers.
- Oversee the implementation of quality procedures throughout the product development, manufacturing process.
- Conduct audits of production processes, products, and services to identify and address quality issues.
- Work with suppliers to ensure that they are meeting the company's quality standards.
- Work with customers to resolve quality complaints.
- Maintain and update quality records and reports.
- Train and develop quality control staff.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest quality management practices and standards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in quality assurance, engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a quality role in the automotive industry.
- Understanding of IATF 16949 and other automotive quality standards.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality management techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
COMPETENCIES
- Quality management system knowledge and system auditing experience or equivalent.
- Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic metrology skills, Blue print reading and SPC knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work in a team environment.
- Bilingual (Korean-English) strongly preferred in order to maintain successful communication with Korean-based customers.
- Ability to interface with customer.
- Strong supervisory skills.
PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Walk, stand, bend, and reach.
- Push, pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to analyze information, identify problems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office work environment with controlled temperature.
- Plant work environment with seasonal fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter)
- Exposure to noise and bright lights.
- Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, gloves when on the production floor or customer sites.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected). By car, by plane.
