Our team is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, and skilled CAD Technician to support our Transportation team. The CAD Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our team by utilizing CAD software (Microstation) to produce accurate and detailed drawings and plans for a variety of transportation and civil projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD drafting and experience working in a civil engineering environment, particularly in transportation design.
The position would report in-office at our Indianapolis office. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., Microstation including InRoads and OpenRoads) to create detailed drawings, maps, and plans.
- Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and plans.
- Support engineers in completing quantity calculations and takeoffs.
- Maintain organized records of drawings and project files for future reference and revisions.
- Adhere to quality control standards on drawings to ensure adherence to company standards and project requirements.
- Stay updated on CAD software advancements and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Communicate regularly with project managers and design engineers.
- Work on several projects concurrently.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Proficiency in Microstation InRoads, OpenRoads, Excel, and Word. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret survey data and specifications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with surveyors, engineers, and other team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of transportation cad drafting principles and practices is required.
