Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions swiftly and efficiently
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product information or demonstrations to enhance their shopping experience
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including balancing registers and issuing receipts
- Assist with merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Upsell relevant products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Maintain phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or providing assistance remotely
- Support store operations through inventory management, stock replenishment, and ensuring the store remains clean and organized
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions and cash handling
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customers effectively
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and setting up product displays
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of grocery store operations is advantageous but not required
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
