What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Development and Operations Associate position at Hanni?
Reporting to Head of Product with a dotted line to COO, this person will be the project manager for product extension launches as well as marketing materials/GWPs, and also support operations on managing orders and shipment logistics.
This role is remote, but based in Los Angeles and requires regular in-person interactions with team, products, and lab partners.
Product Development: (50%)
- Manage the product development process and timeline to key milestones and budget, ensuring timely launch of new SKUs
- Identify risks and anticipate potential bottlenecks and delays, evaluate technical feasibility and propose back up plans
- Participate in development conversations with labs and suppliers either on formulation and/or packaging, and troubleshoot as needed
- Projects includes but not limited to product extensions, reformulations, packaging improvements, artwork updates to packaging and coordination of 3rd party testing (RIPT, compatibility, etc.)
Operations (35%):
- Manage the logistical delivery of finished goods from labs to warehouses on all open POs
- Support inventory fulfillment, actively monitoring receiving status and troubleshoot delays w/ agency partners proactively
- Support retail channel post sales operations. Review open compliance violation notices, provide documentation to overturn violations with the goal of minimizing chargebacks
- Manage the record of SKU specs (ingredient lists, safety data sheets, master shipper configuration details, SKU/UPC code master sheet; maintain them as specs evolve
Marketing support (15%):
- Support development of marketing materials and GWPs (identify suppliers, source materials, manage timeline and meet budgets)
- Translate marketing/creative vision into requirements and communicate clearly to all internal and external stakeholders throughout the development process
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong interest in beauty and product development a must
- 1-2 years of direct beauty PD experience, or 2 years in project management/operations role in the beauty industry
- Excellent project management, communication and organization skills
- Proactive problem solver with a “can do” attitude
- Experience working with supply chain and external vendors a plus
