Construction Estimator

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced drywall Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for drywall projects, analyzing project plans and specifications, and collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of drywall and metal stud framing processes, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency with industry-standard estimating software. The Estimator plays a vital role in project planning, budgeting, and ensuring profitability while maintaining quality standards.

Duties

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Prepare detailed cost proposals including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
• Utilize estimating software such as quick bid and on screen take off to create accurate and competitive bids.
• Conduct negotiations with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to assess project scope, schedule, and resource requirements.
• Perform cost analysis and control to ensure projects stay within budget without compromising quality.
• Assist in contract review and development, ensuring all contractual obligations are accurately reflected in estimates.
• Monitor market trends, material costs, and labor rates to keep estimates current and competitive.
• Support project management teams during project execution by providing cost updates and forecasts.

Skills

• Proficiency with Bluebeam, OST, QB and other estimating or project management software.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques, cost control, and pricing strategies.
• Excellent negotiation skills for working with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Solid understanding of construction site operations and experience in construction management.
• Ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications accurately.
• Experience with contracts, project management principles, and construction site safety standards.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to produce precise estimates.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting proposals confidently.
