Job Title: Title Clerk

Responsibilities:
- Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state they will be titled.
- Prepare tax and title documents accurately and efficiently.
- Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Verify funds and ensure correct lienholder payments before processing title applications.
- Check for accuracy and completeness of application information.
- Bill out dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin.
- Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles.
- Compile and maintain a complete list of outstanding title work, reporting status to management.
- Sign over titles for wholesalers who have paid in full and prepare monthly reports on outstanding funds.
- Post vehicle sales and purchases accurately.
- Process yearly renewal of dealer tags in collaboration with the comptroller.
- Stay updated on title regulations by attending seminars and training sessions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a tidy work area.
Requirements:
- Previous automotive dealership accounting experience required.
- Working knowledge of title processes.
- Outstanding experience in dealership title work.
- Dealertrack experience preferred.
- Familiarity with various DMV portals.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Notary Public required.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency with standard computer software and accounting software.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
