Job Description
The Oakland Office of Hanna Brophy is looking to hire an Associate Attorney with one to four years' experience, to do workers’ compensation defense work.
Hanna Brophy has been doing workers’ compensation defense for over 80 years, and represents a wide range of employers, both private and public entities. We have our own computer system (not an off-the-shelf product) which allows our attorneys to work 100% remote, with full access to all aspects of their defense work from any location. In-person appearances are returning to the Bay Area Workers’ Compensation Boards, so the ability to appear locally in either Oakland, San Francisco, or San Jose is helpful, but not necessarily required.
Depending on the applicant’s experience, the attorney would be provided his/her own caseload. We provide health insurance, a 401k Plan, and we have a competitive salary and bonus program. In addition to taking depositions and making appearances at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, as an Associate Attorney you will:
- Assume responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity
- Communicate with clients
- Develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases
- Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as liens
- Draft pleadings and reports
- Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation
- 2 Years of Workers' Compensation Experience Preferred
- Valid CA Bar License
