Hanna Education Center is a small, Non-Public School, new to Sonoma County. Developed with a strong background in Trauma Informed Care, we seek a Sp Ed Teacher to serve students struggling with emotional disturbance, specific learning disabilities, other health impairments, and high functioning autism. We are growing our program and looking for the perfect person to help us build a strong foundation.

Special Education (SPED) Teacher Location: Hanna Academy, Sonoma, CA Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt About Hanna Academy Hanna Academy is a trauma informed, nonpublic high school located on the beautiful Hanna Center campus in Sonoma, CA. We serve students with diverse learning, emotional, and behavioral needs in a supportive, small class environment. Our mission is to provide individualized education that nurtures both academic growth and social emotional development. Position Overview We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging educators, especially those completing or recently credentialed through programs like SCOE’s SPED Internship Program, to gain hands on experience in a collaborative and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student’s needs. • Provide differentiated instruction in small classroom settings, integrating social-emotional learning. • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, counselors, and therapists to support whole-child development. • Use trauma-informed and restorative practices to promote a positive learning environment. • Track student progress and communicate regularly with families and team members. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field. • Valid or in-progress California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs or equivalent). • Experience working with students with learning or behavioral challenges preferred. • Strong commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching. • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
