Position Title:
Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor provides leadership and hands-on support across both first and second shift operations. This role works a split shift schedule to ensure smooth communication, consistent performance standards, and full coverage between shifts. The supervisor will also step in to cover for other production supervisors during vacations, absences, or high-demand periods.
Responsibilities:
- Work Monday- Friday 6am-3pm, Saturdays as needed.
- Supervise and support production operations across 1st and 2nd shift, ensuring smooth transition and communication between teams.
- Maintain effective communication and shift handoffs to ensure continuity between shifts.
- Maintain balance between quality, productivity, cost, safety, and employee morale.
- Promote a positive and safe work environment by providing coaching, feedback, and direction to employees.
- Assist in daily production activities as needed, including equipment setup, truck loading/unloading, and production floor support during staff shortages.
- Help coordinate break and lunch rotations to ensure consistent workflow.
- Monitor downtime and collaborate with maintenance to reduce delays and improve efficiency.
- Oversee weekly inventory counts in coordination with first and second shift teams.
- Ensure end-of-shift procedures are completed, including scanning tags, equipment breakdown, and printing next-day production tags.
- Manage departmental priorities and provide regular updates to management.
- Conduct accident investigations and assist in maintaining safety compliance.
- Track and report on attendance, timekeeping, and performance metrics.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees to achieve department goals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across shifts.
- Experience maintaining safe work environments and enforcing safety standards.
- Knowledge of production processes, inventory management, and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and shifts.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills under time-sensitive conditions.
- Ability to work a split-shift schedule and provide weekend coverage as needed.
- Capable of managing a production team ranging from 4 to 55 employees.
- Strong team player with a proactive and flexible mindset.
