What are the responsibilities and job description for the Furniture Repair Tech position at HANKS FURNITURE INC?
Diagnose furniture issues, including mechanical, structural, and cosmetic problems.
Complete in-home and in-store repairs such as:
Part replacements
Cleaning and stain treatment
Minor upholstery work and reupholstery
Frame, spring, and mechanism repairs
Wood touch-ups, refinishing, and minor restoration
Document all findings, repairs, and parts used.
Communicate professionally with customers, store personnel, and the home office.
Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
Travel regularly within assigned service areas (company vehicle may be provided based on policy).
Qualifications:
Previous experience in furniture repair, upholstery, woodworking, or a related skilled trade preferred.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic ability.
Ability to lift and move furniture and equipment up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable traveling daily; clean driving record required.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
