AVAILABILITY:

Hank’s Coffee Station is committed to open 7 days a week and will have staff working hard 16 hours per day. Being a member of our team REQUIRES that you are available to work both locations and on weekends and holidays. Part time employees must be available a minimum of 4 days per week, for a minimum of 5 consecutive hours each of those 4 days. This does not guarantee that you will receive 20 hours / 4 days of work each week, but you must have availability to be scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours / 4 days each week.

BARISTA

The Barista has the most interactive role at Hanks Coffee Station. Whether at our flagship location in Franklin, or at our Leipers Fork coffee trailer, the barista has the important job serving our patrons delicious coffee and a great experience at Hank’s Coffee Station. The barista provides exceptional customer service, produces food and beverage at the highest quality, and is an integral team member to the daily tasks needed in the coffee shop.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Greets all customers with fast, friendly, and personalized service
• Accurately rings sales and handles monetary transaction with customers
• Answer telephone inquiries regarding directions, ordering, etc
• Set up and maintain a clean and sanitary front and back of house, including patio, bathrooms, storage, all stations, etc
• Conduct opening, closing, mid, and additional cleaning duties as described in their respective lists
• Create beverages according to recipe and standards set by Hank’s Coffee Station Drink Guide
• Maintain high standards of coffee service through espresso calibration, proper milk steaming, correct drink construction, and correct coffee equipment maintenance
• Stock, refill, clean and maintain pastry case, grab-n-go refrigerator, register area, condiment station and retail area
• Create food items according to recipe and standards set by Hank’s Coffee Station Food Guide
• Uphold food & safety standards as set by Health Department
• Be up-to-date and knowledgeable about all coffees being featured at Hank’s Coffee Station, including the roast name, type, and blend components
• Be up-to-date and knowledgeable on all food items, including but not limited to, important important allergens, ingredients, freshness, etc
• Participate in daily cleaning and maintenance of the cafe

Physical skills and general requirements:

• Previous specialty coffee experience for at least one year
• Must be able to stand up for 4 hours at a time
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs of product
• Must hold and maintain current Food Handlers Certification
• Must have reliable transportation to arrive to their shift on-time

Position Type:

• This position reports directly to the General Manager for overall needs, included by not limited to: time off request, human resources related issues, personal conflicts, etc
• Hank’s Coffee Station is committed to open 7 days a week and will have staff working hard 16 hours per day. Being a member of our team REQUIRES that you are available to work both locations and on weekends and holidays.
• Our shifts last a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 8. If hired, you are expected to work the length of the shift, and we cannot make accommodations to shift start and end times
• “Part time” is considered 29 hour or less, while “full time” is 30 or more hours on a weekly basis
