Job Responsibilities/Duties

H2C seeks a Test Director position for the Testing organization. The H2C test program provides tools and processes for demonstrating the operability and integrity of new or modified systems/facilities. Test Directors are typically assigned to assist high risk or complex projects warranting additional oversight of testing activities. The duties of the Test Director will include but are not limited to the following activities:


  • Develop, present and communicate test plans, test procedures, and test results to management oversight groups and other H2C staff.
  • Participate as member of various project teams, apply technical knowledge to review design documents, vendor submittals, user manuals, other technical data, for function and test impacts.
  • Prepare detailed test plans describing testing approach and testing requirements for assigned projects.
  • Review and provide input on project schedules and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate testing activities with project team.
  • Attend select vendor testing offsite. Review vendor submittals for objective evidence of required testing.
  • Participate in work package development. Oversee construction testing activities in the field with construction or site forces. Track deficiencies identified during testing.
  • Develop and perform operational acceptance tests in the field with operations personnel, interfacing with other H2C functional areas.
  • Resolve technical issues encountered during testing and coordinate corrective actions with H2C staff.
  • Participate in early-stage project development design reviews.
  • Provide input and peer reviews on Test Program administrative procedure changes, as well as independent peer review for other Test Director deliverables.
  • Must be able qualify as a Test Director and all other qualifications necessary for unescorted access to the Tank Farms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Grade 18:

  • Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree in a related discipline; and six (6) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience.


Grade 19:

  • Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree in a related discipline; and eight (8) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.


Grade 20:

  • Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree in a related discipline; and ten (10) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.


Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills with diverse project teams including craft, exempt personnel and management.
  • Flexible working in office and field environments
  • Previous experience developing work instructions or technical procedures and instructions for use in high hazard facilities.
  • Past experience working with construction, maintenance, and operations personnel in the field.
  • Prior experience performing or overseeing equipment testing activities.
  • Presenting and communicating technical positions to management; reviewing and comprehending multi-disciplinary design documents; tracking, developing, and locating objective evidence that test requirements are met; and a demonstrated proactive approach to completing assignments is desirable.
  • Previous experience in an industrial or nuclear facility, Hanford Tank Farm experience in Startup or Initial Testing, or other relevant testing experience under an ASME NQA-1 program (Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications).


Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.


Hiring Range Minimum: $109,013

Hiring Range Maximum: $166,263
