Payroll Manager - Hybrid

Job Summary

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing payroll procedures, ensuring compliance with laws and tax obligations, supervising the payroll team, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)

· Ensure accuracy of multi-state, multi-company payroll data

· Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations

· Supervise and coach payroll team

· Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems

· Maintain training programs for employees on using the timekeeping and payroll applications

· Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits

· Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams

· Maintain accurate records and prepare reports

· Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll

· Monitor quarterly and annual tax filings

· Manage payroll projects as needed

· Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

· 5 years multi-state/multi-company payroll experience

· Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws

· Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes

· Familiarity with payroll software/HRIS (ADP a plus) and MS Office (especially Excel)

· CPM Certification a plus

Physical Requirements

· Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
