Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Employment Specialist at our Council Bluffs, IA location. The primary responsibilities include assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. This involves conducting job interviews, providing training and support, coordinating with employers on behalf of clients, and ensuring their workplace success. The Employment Specialist will also collaborate closely with clients, families, and community partners to create thoughtful employment plans that align with each individual’s goals and strengths.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Communication and Customer Service to effectively interact with clients, families, and employers
- Experience in Interviewing and Recruiting to identify and secure employment opportunities suitable for clients
- Proficiency in providing Training to support clients in achieving workplace readiness and long-term success
- Ability to build professional relationships and foster community engagement
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field is preferred
