Responsibilities
- Assist patients and residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Support medication administration processes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Perform specialized care tasks including catheter care, hospice support, dementia and Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
- Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to ensure seamless medical records management.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment aligned with infection control protocols.
- Provide compassionate emotional support to patients experiencing memory loss or cognitive decline while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation.
- Ability to perform CPR and handle emergency situations confidently.
- Skilled in providing specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care along with hospice support when needed.
- Competent in vital signs measurement, medication administration, catheter care, and hospice-related tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and families.
- Demonstrated patience and empathy when working with seniors or individuals with disabilities across diverse settings.
