Special Needs Companion Caregiver

We are looking for an energetic, dependable, patient, and compassionate Companion Caregiver to provide one-on-one support to an adult client.
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Position: Companion Care / Direct Support
- Setting: Primarily out and about in the community for the duration of the shift
- Transportation: Caregiver must be comfortable transporting the client in their personal vehicle
About the Client
The client is an adult with autism who enjoys getting out into the community and participating in activities and outings.
This position is primarily community-based, with the caregiver spending much of the shift out and about with the client. The caregiver should enjoy staying active, engaging in activities, and supporting the client as they participate in the community.
What You'll Do
As a Companion Caregiver, you will provide one-on-one support while encouraging independence, confidence, social engagement, and community participation.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing companionship and positive social interaction
- Accompanying the client to community activities, appointments, errands, and outings
- Spending the majority of the shift actively engaged in the community with the client
- Safely transporting the client in your personal vehicle
- Encouraging independence and participation in activities
- Providing supervision and support as needed
- Supporting the client with daily routines and activities
- Helping maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment
- Following individualized support and care instructions
- Communicating professionally with the client, family, and Hands 2 Hands Support Services team

The ideal caregiver will be someone who genuinely enjoys working with adults with disabilities and is comfortable providing active, one-on-one support.

Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Valid auto insurance
- Comfortable transporting an adult client in your personal vehicle
