Job Details
- Pay: Average weekly pay $1,400-$1,700 with a $1,400/wk guarantee; pay structure includes a $240/day starting base flat rate, $0.47-$0.49/mile depending on verifiable experience, or $33/hr
- Schedule: Varies; home weekly, plus 1-2 nights home during the week
- Start Time: Dispatch between 6:00 PM-9:00 PM; deliveries between 4:00 AM-8:00 AM
- Route Type: Regional, home weekly plus 1-2 nights during the week
- Delivery States: IL, IN, MI, OH, WI, MN, IA, NE
- Tractor Type: Day cab
- Trailer Type: 53' dry van (some reefer)
- Freight: No touch, groceries
- Elogs: Yes
What It Takes to Drive With Handled Now
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in state of domicile
- Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 3 years operating Class 8 tractor-trailer equipment
- Clean driving record: no DUI, DWI, reckless, or careless driving convictions within the past 5 years
- No more than 3 moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the past 3 years
- Able to determine that cargo is properly loaded, distributed, and secured
- Comfortable using electronic logs (ELDs)
- Able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to meet FMCSA requirements
