We are currently seeking a Mechanical Field Technician to join our team in Kearny, NJ.
Position is day shift (M-F).
As a Mechanical Field Technican, you will be an integral part of our Wastewater Team that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of various types of groundwater processing equipment and remediation systems. These systems and equipment are located at environmental remediation job sites, including wastewater treatment facilities, superfund sites, and refineries throughout Northern New Jersey.

Responsibilities:
- Follow instructions from the Onsite Operator in Charge and carry out assigned tasks to support daily operations and maintenance/repair activities for wastewater remediation systems and equipment. Responsibilities will include inspecting, adjusting, repairing or replacing, and monitoring process equipment, meters, gauges, and controls to identify issues and ensure optimal system performance.
- Assist with process control and field testing of water. Record and adjust pH levels and manage process chemicals, such as flocculants and coagulants, using mixers, pumps, and metering devices.
- Maintain access to land wells and system components by performing landscaping duties using hand tools, power tools, or precision equipment in accordance with O&M guidelines.
- Ensure that job site indoor/outdoor areas are organized, clean, and free of debris.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with fieldwork protocols.
- Keep abreast of industry standards and advancements in wastewater treatment and remediation technologies to enhance field operations, system performance and professional development.
- Understand, follow, and strictly adhere to all required safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills Needed for Success:
· 2 years experience as a Mechanical Field Technician in a Wastewater, Automotive, Industrial or Manufacturing environment.
· Ability to repair and maintain mechanical equipment. Knowledge of remediation systems and gauges and pumps a plus.
· High school diploma/GED. Vocational or Technical training in mechanical, manufacturing, automotive or wastewater systems/equipment desired.
· Comfortable taking work direction and performing tasks that require walking and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and locations, some of which may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
· Ability to work overtime when required.
· Highly reliable team player along with a good work ethic is a must.
· Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to grow and develop.
· Valid driver license in good standing and ability to pass background checks (criminal/drug/alcohol/DMV) required.
Salary Range:
· $25.00/HR to $30.00/HR plus OT.
